Day 31

Day 31 . . . Self-Portrait . . .

For my last challenge I wanted something which showed my mood . . . and well I am feeling so ill right now . . . good old winter has brought on a lovely cold for me . . . so all I want to do is snuggle up in bed with Harry Potter and something to cuddle . . . I have used some tips I have learnt through this challenge to create these images . . . Bokeh . . . Studio Lighting Effect . . . Warm Glow . . . And most of all I have learnt how to pose, kinda!

So . . . today is the day . . . the end of my 31 Day Photographic Challenge . . . I am sad to say goodbye to it. The challenges have got my mind racing . . . my camera snapping . . . and my bum off from my sofa just looking at photographers work and wishing I had done a shoot like that.

Its not the end . . . far from it . . . I am now starting an Instagram 30 day challenge . . . I can't stop doing the challenges . . . just too addictive . . .

This challenge has taught me new tricks of the trade . . . created so many new ideas for full shoots . . . most of all it has given me an even bigger love for camera's . . . any camera . . . big or small . . . phone or DSLR . . . old or new . . .

Day 30

Day 30 . . . Something Transparent . . .

Not completely transparent but I do love the pattern on our living room doors, and the light shinning through them is just so pretty . . . really makes the house feel so warm. 

I added some more light details with Bokeh to give it more edge . . . more depth . . . more beautiful . . . I think it has worked . . . I have to admit I could've done more . . . There will defiantly be more to come for the Transparent theme at some stage . . 

Tomorrow is the last day of the challenge . . . I can't believe it is over . . . but I will be saying my goodbyes to this challenge tomorrow . . .

Day 29

Day 29 . . . Sharp . . .

Sharp . . . Pumpkins . . . Sharp . . . Pumpkins . . . hrm . . . where's the connection I hear you say . . . well there is one! I promise. 

I needed something Sharp to carve out my pumpkin's face. 

I know very little connection, but I had to get Halloween into this challenge somehow as it is the month for it. 

Carving out pumpkins is the best . . . I did it with my boyfriend this year . . . It was soo much fun . . . kinda a bit of competition but I think mines a clear winner . . . obviously!!! 

No, seriously I love both . . . ones scary and ones cheeky . . . ones the Trick . . . ones the Treat . . .

Day 28

Day 28 . . . Something Pink . . .

Something Pink . . . such a huge theme . . . could've done anything . . . but I felt creative . . .

I know, it's very girly of me, maybe a bit too girly, but I would love a pink Autumn!

Day 27 . . .

Day 27 . . . Art . . .

Sorry I haven't been uploading for a few days . . . I am gutted as it is the last few days, but I have had such a bad headache continuously for about 3 days . . . It has finally progressed into a sore throat . . . A cold is coming . . . 

I am getting up to date, and I hope these images make up for me being away as I have put my all into them.

So . . . today's theme is Art . . . oh how I love Art . . . It has been a passion of mine every since I picked up my first crayon. I decided to start to sketch out some Teddy Bears . . . why . . . because it is my nephews 1st birthday soon and I need to get card making. I want it to be a special one so I am practicing . . . he might look and the card and laugh . . . or he might just walk straight past . . . I am hoping for the laugh! Fingers Crossed!

Day 26

Day 26 . . . Space . . .

I love anything about space at the moment . . . I love the stars at night . . . I love space textures in Photoshop . . . I love conceptual space photographs and artworks . . . I am just space crazy.

So when I found an exhibition at the Tate Britain on my trip to London I had not only found really beautiful pieces of art but found my picture for today! I may have taken it yesterday but I have edited it today and played around with it all today. 

The exhibtion was a response/a link to the artist J. M. W. Turner by the modern artist Vija Celmins . . . The pieces of artwork were of the spaces sky as we see it, will just the stars twinkling above us.

Day 25

Day 25 . . . From a Distance

These images are all from my trip to London . . . We walked along the Thames edge and I thought this would be perfect for the distance shot. 

The day had some very heavy fog added to it . . . which meant the buildings in the distance were shadowed slightly by it. This I felt was quite a cool effect as the distance became whiter and whiter.

Day 24

Day 24 . . . Bokeh . . . 

I love Bokeh, as I am sure you have seen already in some of my other photographs! I do use it a lot . . . woops . . .

This one I decided to do it slightly more abstracted. The focus, which you can vaguely see, in the image is a book with the pages turn so it looks like a love heart. I have seen love hearts created within a book in some of the most creative ways like the pages being folded . . . a ring casting a shadow . . . 

I hope you like this image, I am quite happy with it, it is one of my favorites from this challenge because of the dreaminess to it . . . the colours . . . the romance . . . the texture . . . the lighting . . . oh . . .  I just LOVE this picture!!!

I am in London tomorrow so expect to see either a Documentary style image, or Architectural, or Artistic . . . the possibilities are endless.

Day 23

Day 23 . . . Architecture . . .

Architecture . . . It can be a simplistic beauty . . . a highly detailed beauty . . . or a classic beauty. In any form architecture just amazes me . . . it is a type of art in my mind, some you love, some you hate and some are just mind blowing. 

I wanted a classic black and white approach to these more modern architectural buildings. The first image mixes architecture throughout the ages, the second and third are of the modern age, the clean cut, simplistic approach. 

I am going to London tomorrow . . . I think I may just have take a few architectural photographs.

Day 22

Day 22 . . . Out Of Focus . . .

I have once before created my own Bokeh using Photoshop, and was not that keen on the out come . . . so here is my first hand . . . using a trusty camera . . . attempt to create the Bokeh look. 

So much more successful than the digitally created . . . cameras all the way sometimes . . .

I would have loved to have done a scene with the Bokeh including . . . a Landscape . . . Looking across the Thames . . . Lights casting a reflection in the water . . . 

If only I lived in London! Or close by to water! Maybe one day . . .

Day 21

Day 21 . . . After Dark . . .

The nights are drawing in, christmas cards are appearing and now Christmas adverts . . . Oh yes its that time of year again . . .

. . . Christmas Time . . .

. . . I must admit I do get excited for Christmas, guilty pleasure of mine. Its just all the decorations, sweet nights in, its dark by 5pm and dark when you wake up, Christmas card making and all things jolly. 

I have used a different way of creating a photograph, I have an app on my phone called Text Cutie . . . oh I think its sooo good! You can add phrases onto image, any image from a huge selection and all are so me . . . very unique and pastel colours galore.

Day 20 . . . Up Close . . .

The best steak I have ever had go past my lips. Woah was it yummy in my tummy!!!

Another phonography picture, I just love using my phone as a camera and as a way of documenting small and sweet moments in my life. This moment was defiantly a yummy one!

Day 18

Day 18 . . . Vertical Lines . . .

I decided to flip this one on its head. The leading lines in this image were once vertical lines . . . but are now being chopped to give my family some warmth this winter. I added the leaf, which shows the season by its vivid red and yellow tones, to represent the trees life and its death.

Hope you liked this more conceptual piece . . . it was fun thinking of the meanings and tackling how to portray it.

 Day 17 . . . Trees . . .

Trees . . . something which lets us breath . . . something which gives beauty . . . something every animal needs . . . something which keeps us warm . . . something which gives us shelter and shade . . . 

Autumn . . . that's the season . . . wind . . . cold . . . leaves dying . . . nearly Christmas . . . time for Christmas trees . . .

I had to photograph a Christmas tree! I love them, for sooo many reasons.

Day 16

Day 16 . . . Long Exposure . . .

I am so tired right now so thought to do a photo about sleep . . . this is really keeping me awake posing for a sleepy Photo-shoot . . . 

Anyone who has restless nights this is for you . . . I have gone through a period before where I didn't have a proper nights sleep in weeks, it really takes it out of you and these photographs show the type of movement and mood you feel. Your drowsy, then wide awake, tossing and turning, getting out of bed . . . back into bed. It is so frustrating! Thank god I sleep like a baby now . . . but I bet I have jinxed it for tonight's sleep!

I love long exposure photography it is so diverse in what you can achieve . . . maybe a project is due on Long Exposure for me to get stuck into.

Day 15

Day 15 . . . Flowers . . . 

Sometimes I think back to when I was younger and all I did was draw, constantly . . . anything and everything.

Sometimes I wish I could do that for just one day now, without having anything else to do . . . 

So for the flowers challenge I have done some quick crayon sketch  . . . some quirkie photography . . . some Photoshop editing.

Day 14

Day 14 . . . Hands . . .

Tonight I am with my boyfriend and fancied like having a sweet and slightly cheesy photo with him for the challenge of hands.

I have seen on Instagram people using a little heart shapes in simplistic ways and very cute ways . . . people have also started to get them as tattoos in various places but most commonly on their wrists. 

I wanted to join the craze! 

I edited the picture using apps on my phone . . . thought it might be cool to try out some phonography! Hope you like it, I like it but would've liked to have put a warm or red filter over the image and softened it slightly . . . maybe Photoshop will be available on your phone in the future . . .  if it is already I am getting it in a heart beat!

Day 13

Day 13 . . . Mirror . . .

Sorry about the day late post, I had the image ready to upload but had some problems with posting it, and then had to go off to work. 

I decided to do a self portrait in the mirror showing a milestone for me . . . my first job! (well proper job)I am officially employed! And to make it even better this isn't my only paid job, I have another one on the go as well. I go from no jobs, to two! I hope my luck lasts me a while!

Tomorrow (well today's) challenge is . . . Hands . . .

Already have a idea in mind, but can't do it just yet as I am off to work again.

Day 12

Day 12 . . . Eyes . . . 

 

These are old pictures I had taken of my nephew Harrison. I know . . . they are old . . . but . . . I hope you will forgive me . . . these images are just perfect for the title of eyes. 

He was only around 6 months old when these were taken and couldn't speak . . . therefore a way of him communicating is by his facial expressions and eyes. I love how he can show so much emotion through his eyes and can change so quickly.
